The bladder-type damper could be considered as the most traditional and widespread dampener, since it offers a great performance and is manufactured in a very wide range of sizes and building materials. Competitive in price, it is also easy to install. It is specially indicated for clean liquids without suspended solids and of low viscosity. It is manually adjustable and usually installed together with back pressure valves to guarantee the correct pressurisation of the air chamber in relation to the working pressure of the pump, being this assembly very common in diaphragm or piston metering pumps.
